A 1919 Act letting local authorities grant pensions or gratuities to their own officers wounded, incapacitated, or killed while in State service since World War I, subject to government sanction.

A 1992 law that let certain ad-hoc Medical Officers (appointed before October 1988) be regularized into the federal service, subject to a verification committee, while placing them junior to already-regular officers.

A 1972 law giving the President sole power to appoint, set terms for, and accept the resignation of the Chairman of the National Press Trust, overriding the Trust's own deed and any other law.

An 1871 law that keeps ordinary courts out of direct pension disputes with government (claims must first go to a Collector or authorized revenue officer), shields certain pensions from being seized by creditors, and lets a pension be converted into a lump sum with the holder's consent.

A 1981 ordinance setting out how employees of Pakistan's Population Welfare Planning Programme are appointed, made civil servants, and -- if not selected or if no vacancy exists -- can have their service terminated with terminal benefits.
