Pakistan Refugees Rehabilitation Finance Corporation (Dissolution) Ordinance, 1980

This 1980 Ordinance wound up the Pakistan Refugees Rehabilitation Finance Corporation, a body that had been established under the Pakistan Refugees Rehabilitation Finance Corporation Ordinance, 1959 to help finance the resettlement of refugees. It was issued during the martial-law era, under the Laws (Continuance in Force) Order, 1977.

Section 3 lets the Federal Government, by order, direct that the Corporation's undertakings and properties — including its loans, assets, leases, investments, shares, and other rights and interests — be transferred to whatever body or authority it chooses, on terms and a date the order specifies. The Corporation's officers, advisers, and employees are transferred and reappointed to that body or authority on terms the order sets out.

Section 4 formally dissolves the Corporation once the transfer order under Section 3 has been issued: the Federal Government notifies a dissolution date, and from that date the founding 1959 Ordinance is repealed. All of the Corporation's outstanding debts, liabilities, contracts, and pending lawsuits automatically become those of the successor body or authority, with no interruption in legal continuity.

Section 5 gives the Federal Government supplementary powers to resolve any difficulties arising from the dissolution and to handle matters incidental to it. This is a housekeeping, institutional-winding-up law whose main practical effect (transferring the Corporation's functions elsewhere) occurred back in 1980.
